Will there be new firmware soon?

Just wondering if there is a firmware update coming anytime soon?

  • What problems are you seeing, or things that you don’t like, that you feel might require a firmware update so soon?

  • It is more about the features that we would like to see brought back from older models and Fenix 5+:

    • Backlight options after sunset on gesture and keys
    • Ability to disable LAP button
    • Ability to disable/reassign DOWN hotkey function
    • Sight'N'Go

Also it would be nice if auto transition in triathlon mode was added.

  • Exactly this...the watch as it is is brilliant. But it’s the little things that I miss as rolandss has said.

Also so I do see a problem where a PB for a strava Segment I completed on a prior run shows up after each run thereafter even if I don’t run that route. Turning off and on again fixes it tho.

I really hope there is a new software after 2.40:

    To-Do:

    - Stress not working after completed workout (workaround: restart watch)

    - LED blinking even if cheststrap is used (on purpose, or bug?)

WHR stays on to detect on/off wrist for Garmin Pay. It's in the manual somewhere.

I could not find it in the FR945 manual

there is some notice in the Fenix Plus manuals

Turning Off the Wrist-based Heart Rate Monitor

The default value for the Wrist Heart Rate setting is Auto. The device automatically uses the wrist-based heart rate monitor unless you pair an ANT‍+® heart rate monitor to the device.

NOTE: Disabling the wrist-based heart rate monitor also disables the on-wrist detection feature for Garmin PayTm payments, and you must enter a passcode before making each payment (Garmin PayTm).
NOTE: Disabling the wrist-based heart rate monitor also disables the wrist-based pulse oximeter sensor.
    1. From the heart rate widget, hold MENU.
    2. Select Options > Status > Off.

    happy sporting

  • Also hourly alert is not working correctly. There is another thread about this.

  • Bug report: After done run activities, 24/7 stress measurement stops working. Device needs to be tunrned of and turned on.

So apparently we got a green banana that must mature now. New update appreciated ;-)

  • @Marco has mentioned this below.

I wish this topic would become a sticky.
