Smart Notification Actions are only accessible after going "into" the notification?

As the title says, on my new Forerunner 945, if I get a notification (e.g. an email notification from Gmail on Android), I only have the option to Dismiss the notification by pressing the down button.

Previously on my 935, pressing down gave additional options under the "Dismiss" option such as "Delete" and "Archive"

I realize I can press the Run button on my 945 to go "into" the notification, and then access these other action options, but is there not a way to do this from the notification itself (without going "in")?

  • Ironically, this is how the behavior was originally on the 935. They changed it to the method you describe at some point through an update.

I much prefer the new (old) method on the 945. 95% of the time the action I want to perform on a notification is "dismiss".

  • Yes, you're right. I remember them changing how it worked on the 935. For most notifications, dismissing is fine. But for emails, texts, etc. having access to those options without having to first go into the notification seems more ideal. The functionality could be the same (with the first option being dismiss; so 1 press down, 1 press run to select dismiss) or alternatively pressing the Run key to go into the notification.
