Really! You come late to the party and add absolutely nothing and appear to have clearly failed to understand the issue.
As noted:
On the one hand I can understand wanting the option, but on the other there's a pretty simple work around.
Which is not to have the alerts.
Sometimes I just wonder...
I hope so as I have the same issue with workout alerts for HR zones. When the out of zone alert goes off you naturally look at your watch to see whether you're too high or low. But you can't see anything as the screen is blocked for 5 secs or more. The 'in desired zone' alert is completely pointless too.
Maybe if the sound alerts were clearly different for to high or too low. Then you wouldn't even need to look at the damn thing when you're doing a hard 30 sec hill climb. And have an option for it to be vibrate only.
I have the 935. I find the alerts especially annoying when I am trying to stay in a particular power zone on the bike, which is incredibly difficult outside in variable terrain. I don't understand why the out of zone alerts can't be based on average power for the interval like it does with running pace. Also, how about something like a couple of beeps when you are too high and one beep when you are too low and keep it on the interval screen so you always know where you are at? I had a couple of polar watches years ago. I liked how they let you know you were out of zone. I'm about to upgrade but I might look at another brand. I'm dissappointed that I pay so much for a watch that can't get the interval function right.
Just because you want to turn off the beeping doesn’t mean you don’t want to train within the parameters of your work out…
it’s quite invasive and you can just as easily keep track by occasionally looking at your watch.
I worked out how to do this this morning:
in Garmin connect select your device>sounds and alerts>Alert Tones (off)
I hope that helps!
