A bit challenging to find any basic information on how to do the initial setup for a new 945 when it is replacing a 935. It is clear in garmin connect and garmin express how to add a device, but do we need to "remove" the 935? First or after 945 is added? Is the user profile info retained and moved to the new device or do you have to start over. What about performance stats like VO2, FTP and lactate threshold, do those transfer as well or do we need to redo the tests on the new device? I would think this would be covered somewhere in the manual or support forums. I can find pieces of info, but it would be nice to have a basic primer on how to switch. Maybe I am just not able to locate, so anyone with a link to the info would be appreciated.
Only thing I can think of that you need to proactively do is to mark the 945 as your default activity tracker. It normally asks you that if add a new device or you can do it later in Garmin Connect website or app.
Lot of people have multiple devices so you can all these on your account and just use whichever device you want that day.
If you have Physio TrueUp turned on (in Settings, Physiological Metrics) then some things from Garmin Connect should be synched to your 945.
VO2 Max will fully recompute on the watch from new activities in about a week or so. As some of the algorithms appear to have changed (especially race predictor) then I would just let it do this.
TBH am never on clear on FTP and LTHR and if are synched. You can certainly manually enter both on the watch anyway.
