v17.28 - Enabling Live Event Sharing Doesn't Always "Stick"

I turn on the Live Event Sharing each time I go out for a run just so my wife gets text updates every split. More times than not, I'll enable Sharing and within a few seconds sharing is automatically disabled (1st and 2nd screenshot). I then enable one more time Sharing seems to stay enabled for the 24 hour expiration period. A bit frustrating....

I think this may be the same kind of thing I've seen since the beginning and yet there has been no acknowledgement of it as an issue...

I use Live Track auto start with every outdoor activity, but usually use Event Share just for races. I guess in recent years I haven't done enough races, but nearly every time I have found it a struggle to ensure its ON with the right settings. It almost seems like the App/Phone has a desired setting and the Watch separate and with little control over which syncs when, the last one win (or something).

One time I recall setting it up on the phone (because most of the settings require the phone to set them up) the night before my race and in the end it ended up disabled when the morning came and I raced.

Knowing this, I swear I now go over the settings in the phone and on device several times before starting. It's annoying and frustrating, especially seeing as it seems to have been happening for going on 3+ years.
