Problem wtih the Update

I bought a new Garmin 945 lte. The software update started during the night, but the watch switched off in the middle because it ran out of battery. In the morning I restarted the watch and now it has been trying to process the update for 4 hours, but it just won't go forward. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do?

  • You could try a hard restart of the watch - long press the top right in most cases. Or you could follow the below;

    Windows

    1. Connect your watch or Edge cycling computer to a PC via USB cable.
    2. Press the Windows key + E on the keyboard to open File Explorer.
    3. Open the Garmin drive once it appears.
    4. Open the Garmin folder.
    5. Open the RemoteSW folder.
    6. Delete all of the files within this folder.

    Mac

    1. Connect your watch or Edge cycling computer to a Mac via USB cable.
    2. Open the GARMIN drive on your Desktop or in Finder.
    3. Open the Garmin folder.
    4. Open the RemoteSW folder.
    5. Delete all the files within this folder. 
    6. Empty the Trash bin.

    NOTE: Use CAUTION when deleting. Do NOT delete unknown files outside of the RemoteSW folder.

    Then try the update again.
