Spectator Messaging no "Send Message"

I've tried everything with Live Track and Live Event sharing. 3 different phones, iPhone and Androd. The map and my tracking works. But on all phones there is no option for the receipient to send me a message. The "Send Message" button doesn't show up at all. Anyone figured out how to resolve this. I've had a ticket open for a week and have just received useless help, just more basic questions. I started my LTE subscription, but being able to send messages was one of the primary reasons for turning it on.

just to check:

in garmin connect app, is the switch under Safety and tracking -> Livetrack -> there are 3 switches that you can show or not show in a livetrack: the course, messages and starting automatically. Just doublecheck if the messages switch is on.

(PS : I only use the lievtrack when paired by phone, but should work the same with LTE)

Thank you! Yeah, unfortunately I checked those and all have been enabled during my testing. Still don't see the Send Message option though for my friends/family. Still perplexed on what is causing this. Just started my LTE subscription about 2 weeks ago.

Never got resolved. I gave up and cancelled my subscription. Don't think this capability is ready for "prime time" yet. I was also concerned that it could put a drain on the watch battery during a triathlon lasting 5-12 hours and leave me with a dead watch. I may revisit this service when I upgrade my 945LTE to a newer model.

I had this issue when the device first came out and had a long back and forth with Garmin support, which felt useless, and then suddenly it started working. I think they changed something on their end. Worth going through it with them.

I was looking for why this was not working on my 645 Forerunner.

In the app I set the function correctly on in Safety and tracking -> Livetrack

But it was not working after that.

Then I read the Manual very carefully and sow that somewhere there was written there was also an option on the watch itself.

So I started the Running on my watch, not yet started it. Before I start it I used the option button. From that menu. Live track -> spectators messaging, or something like that in your own language

After that it was working for me :)

I do that before starting a running activity, but it doesn't help.

It's frustrating, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work.

This watch has a lot of problems due to the LTE connection. I guess that's why Garmin hasn't made LTE watches anymore...
