Looking at seriously swapping my 955 Solar for a 945 LTE for the tracking (as I don't use maps) - would be also interested to know what I would be missing
It's very decent. I don't use maps but I do geek out on the training readiness, stamina features which are 955 level and they work great. The only problem I have had is that some larger connect IQ apps crash, seems to be that it doesn't have the same memory.
I am facing a plethora of bugs with the SW 14.52 of 945 LTE (and all SW versions before), so I generally cannot recommend this watch.
Bugs related to various navigation failures in many respects (too many to name in detail), bad map panning performance (unlike FR 945 non-LTE), sporadic crashes during activity with navigation, or watch stopping tracking by itself without me stopping the tracking explicitly.
If you are happy with the 955, you have been warned.
I never had a non-LTE 945 so I can't speak to the map panning performance (seems fine to me) but I've been using my 945 LTE since it came out in 2021 and I've never experienced an of these other things, FWIW.
