So, I bought the 945 LTE because I cycle gravel roads and I'm not always in cell range when I ride. While I've not crashed, I have some had some hard stops and triggered and incident and got a call from Garmin asking if I was ok.
I'm looking really hard at the new InReach Messenger as an alternative and as I understand it, a triggered incident on the 945 LTE will not trigger an SOS with InReach (one must manually trigger the SOS). It seems as though it would be a simple software code to have a 945 incident trigger send an SOS. Does anyone know if Garmin is planning anything like this? If it is not a good idea, could someone please explain why.
