Garmin has released an overview over new features coming in August also to the 945 LTE:
Training Readiness is mentioned on page three in the chart as a new feature - the column just after "Running Power (Accessory required)"
Doesn't have the Multi-Band hardware for SatIQ.
I wonder if any of you know when to expect all the new features? Coming soon is the message, but I'm "Beta Enrolled" via GC, and there is no news of new features on the beta channel.
maybe the power (stryd) based workouts for running from training peaks will finally work?
Many thanks for the heads-up - wow, and finally, a ton of new features. SATIQ is mentioned for the 945 LTE on page one but not in the overview chart - on page three, where it's blank.. We'll see
Nice been waiting for these No training readiness though :(

Thanks that's great thanks Garmin. Do you think the 945LTE is better than a 255? Or does the new GPS chip outweigh the 945LTE? I am tempted by the more accurate instant pace but on the other hand I think surely the 945LTE is good enough to feed the data for training readiness and maybe its not all that great a feature anyways
Personally if I didn’t want LTE I’d buy a 255 or 955. I think, in general, it is the main differentiating feature here.
To choose between the 255 and 955 I would have to revisit DC Rainmaker’s comparison to recall how they defeatured the 955 into the 255. At one point the 2xx series lacked too many multisport options (I.e. swimming wasn’t even an option let alone multisport profiles), but I know the 255 mostly bridged that gap leaving a much smaller feature gap.
I think the main differentiating feature is the GPS. I've seen posts where people don't even need to use track mode to get accurate track GPS.
I already have the LTE I don't use the LTE anymore as I'm single now but I am curious if the GPS is worth it.
955 is simply too big/thick and I'm a 6'4" guy with big wrists.
I hear you, I guess I meant to say - if you don’t need LTE then the 255 or 955 seem to be the watch to get as the family -should- be superior in nearly every way.
If you have the 945LTE and wonder if it’s worth the cost to upgrade, that’s tougher and a personal question based on spare cash and “need”s
I always justify upgrading to the latest by realizing how much daily use I get from the watch and comparing it’s cost to even just a few races I might pay for (registration, travel, etc)
Virtual Caddie would have been a blast...
