Garmin 955 is out

  • 945 LTE is my preferred Garmin over the 955 all due to the size. Same reason I didn't wait on the Fenix 7S(14.2mm vs 42mm dia makes it fit weird and it's catered to women. Pensive).

Now if there were a 955S, I'd consider it.

  • completely understand that choice. i went from a 935 to a 945LTE to a 955. for me, he diameter was fine (i happily lived with the 935 for 4+ years) on my modest wrist (6.75").

one thing that i have noticed about the 955 is that while it seems small on paper, it is noticeably thicker. i've gotten used to it...it's actually more of a visual thing to me, rather than a comfort issue, but it does feel like i'm wearing a very thick watch. i surprisingly didn't feel the same way about my 935 or 945LTE.

thankfully, i don't wear long-sleeved dress shirts often so i don't have a major concern practically speaking, but i thought i'd offer this perspective.

  • That is my plan. 935 > 945lte. But since they can’t fix the swim training have to get the 955.

  • I had a Fenix 6S for about a month and it kept getting caught on things due to its thickness and shape. An issue I never had with my Coros Apex. Somehow the 945 LTE is still manageable.

I tried on a regular Fenix 6 but it was too big for something I’d be wearing 24/7. 955 might be more manageable because constrained by metal construction.
