Major bug: 945 lte battery drain after activities

First scenario: start with 100%, do a run, 3 devices connected: headphones, Stryd, HR sensor. After this activity battery drains down to 0% in about 15 hours.
Second scenario: start with 100%, do a run, same 3 devices. But after the run is finished I switch the watch off and back on (restart). After this the drain is about 10%/24hours (normal).

It seems that something is not being shut down correctly after the activity is finished.

Second issue, possibly related: if I start the run again without restarting the watch - Stryd CIQ field cannot initialize properly, requiring me to switch the watch off/back on again.

I'm on regular 4.16 firmware.

I solved it like this:
- unpair/delete your Stryd from the watch
- uninstall the data field from your watch
- scan for new sensors ("Search all") on your watch (not for a footpod) - this way, my watch has found…

Yes. I reset the watch after an activity, it seems that the watch tries to reconnect "everything" until the battery is drained. Of course, airplane mode does not work and everything stays connected even if you activate it, music, notifications... whatever, it does not disable, at least, the bluetooth.

I‘m using headphones, running pod (instead stryd), lte and HR Sensor. During the run the watch lost 17 percent per hour. After the run the drain will be normal by 10 percent per day.

no reset need on my side. Maybe the stryd connection will be different.

Hello, i also have the drain issue and i have it also with a new watch from Garmin. Info from another post.... STRYD. I removed it today. Maybe the STRYD software is buggy...

Answer me 2 questions:

- Start listening any music with your headphones, after switch to ON the airplane mode ¿Is the music still active?

- Now, switch the airplane mode to OFF. ¿Does the watch need to connect again, need to 'search the headphones'? If not, the headphones never disconnect, so if you leave it in the bluetooth range always be connected and drained the battery without any reason.

It was my first time to use the flight mode

1. The music is always playing (AirPods Pro), independent of the state of the flight mode.

2. The music is playing, no new searching was necessary.

now I will test the drain…(actual 99 percent)

The FR945 is on 96 percent after 5 hours.

I pinpointed this issue down to Stryd data field. Before someone starts telling me that this is an issue ihat should be fixed by Stryd: there is absolutely no reason for the sandbox environment such as ConnectIQ data field to be allowing the data field not to free any resources upon quitting/ending the activity. The reason should be identified and fixed by Garmin.

I agree. Today, 5 days without Stryd, 3 runs and 49% battery.

I'm curious of your use of Stryd and the data field. I run with a Stryd footpod and have the Stryd Zones data field on a screen with distance (2 fields). It is "at the end" of my data screen list, but usually the screen I switch to while running.

I run 3x a week, twice 45-60 minutes with LTE (and often music) then add 1 longer run without LTE - all use Stryd.

My battery usage doesn't meet specifications (up to 14 days) but typically I see 0.5% battery drain during "smartwatch mode" translating to a need to charge roughly every 5-6 days with my usage (I also don't go 100% to 0 before charging).

This was true for me on 4.16 firmware and the latest 5.07 beta from last week.

I don't use any other CIQ data fields.
