XC skiing power

Can anyone confirm that the Forerunner 945 LTE and Garmin Pro strap actually measures and displays XC skiing power (skate and classic)? I just bought the pair today and tried it out and my power was '0' watts for the whole ski (skating). I hadn't had a chance to update the software version (came installed with V2.03 on the 945 LTE) so I'm hoping it's just an out of date software thing?

Can anyone confirm it does indeed work with this combination (like Garmin says it should)?

The strap also has to be paired via ANT+, as described here. The Bluetooth connection will not work, the ANT+ connection has a five-digit number

Thanks-yes, I have the correct strap and it’s properly paired to both the 945LTE watch and my phone. I went out and tried it again today and it worked great-read power similar to what I felt like I was putting out (compared to cycling).

Update: I went out and tried it again today, after updating the watch to the latest software, and it worked great-read power similar to what I felt like I was putting out (compared to cycling). Very please with it now!

I went XC skiing later this week for the first time with the latest firmware version. While switching through the data screens I discovered the XC skiing power data field not even being aware that it existed but positively surprised. Work stable and without massive battery drainage.

The only thing I wonder now is, if a native running power field will be included in future updates. I did test the running power app from garmin labs but I had to remove it due to the extreme battery consumption.
