So I tried open repeats today. I usually do 5K of structured speed work maybe 12 x 400 or 5 x 1K. I never do fartleks so I set challenges like running to the next street or landmark. It's fun doing all different distances and paces.
When you know how far you have to run and you can see your target it makes pacing an effort easy without going too fast and blowing up. It's a great fun way to do workouts because sometimes it's 600m or 250m or 700m etc. The thing is you have no idea what the total volume is you've ran for the workout.
It shows the distance for each interval but it would be SO much more useful if it showed the total distance especially as you can only fit I think 5 intervals on the screen at once so you can't keep adding up the distance mentally.
If it showed total distance I could do my 5K of speedwork and finish the workout.
