And if not can I buy the EU maps and how much does it cost. Will I have them permanently as I think I read somewhere they only last 1 year.

Did you search at Garmin? www.garmin.com/.../
Thank you I did search but couldn't find
Even if they don't come bundled with it you can have much better here http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/
or much other offers wiki.openstreetmap.org/.../Download
If you buy the additional Garmin EU maps, you can download them permanently one your device (and you can save it on your computer - I think the download possibility from the Garmin server is limited for one year). But you can’t update this map, You have to buy a new one. So the best solution would be to buy a device with the EU maps or to download free osm maps (for example the already suggested ones).
Ah damn doesn't sound good if I can't update them. How often do they get updated? I saw the OSM maps but they don't look as good and can't use Garmins heat mapping with them on the watch. I liked that it always sent me down cool paths and trails.
I got a 945 LTE cheap but it's from America so I guess I can never use the LTE as I read the antennas are different. But I only paid around same price as a used regular 945 and 945 LTE not even available in UK
Thanks I read DCrainmakers article how to get free maps on 945 but they didn't look quite as good and you can't use Garmins heat mapping.
