Slow development?

Hello fellow 945 LTE users, having owned previously different Fenix and Forerunner models it seems that the BETA firmware development on this particular watch is slow, is it just me? I swear when previously using the Fenix 6 the firmwares came very often bringing fixes and new features. I'm wondering if this has to do with the 945 LTE being the first such device and it needing additional work because of the LTE part of the device.

I've thought that the 945 LTE is built on a different platform than the OG 945. From different reviews I've seen on the net I came to the conclusion that the 945 LTE is closer in components to the Fr 745 and the Enduro watch, than it is to the OG 945.

That's great, the important thing is that you're happy. I've owned several Fenix 6's and even the Tactix Delta Solar but I came back to the forerunner for the lighter build. I'm also thinking that maybe the slowness in software development for this particular watch might be because of small user base. I'm thinking the 945 being the top of the line triathlon watch, most people that own an OG 945 didn't feel the need to upgrade to the LTE version in hopes of the 955 being launched soon so Garmin might have less urgency to update and fix things on this device because there are way more people using the Fenix 6 watches and older Forerunners. This is of course all speculation since I have no idea how popular the LTE is and how many of us are there.

  • I am wondering if there are a new generation of forerunners coming they were delayed from q4. And they don't want to take the time to remove whatever "new" features out of their current dev builds for the 945lte so there is still something new for the new watches.

  • Looks like we finally get a production release today!

  • Hello everyone.

The development of updates is really very slow. When is the next update??

If an official member can answer us.

    Thank you.

  • Hello, still no new update. I'm really disappointed with the follow-up. Considering the price of 945 LTE it is not suitable.

  • If you look at all the other Series Forums you’ll see they haven’t got updates for months too. I bet Garmin was working on Fenix 7/Epix 2 all hands on deck. I’m sure they will soon start focusing on the other watches. Nerd

  • Hello, I hope you are right. It's the least of things from Garmin.

  • The garmin fenix 6 have regular update…with the elevate 4 sensor the 945LTE have potential for new update. Maybe the stamina app, will see. For the moment the watch work very great !

  • What bothers me isn't the lack of new features: it's bugs introduced in updates not recieving fixes. Four months have passed since the watch recieved Strength 2.0, yet we still have to scroll up the weight from 0 kg for every single rep! It's an almost daily frustration with no way to downgrade the firmware. Then there's the lag when scrolling through widgets, which has also been there since the 4.07 beta update and has persisted into stable firmware...

My expectations from a company the size of Garmin before buying the watch is that they'd have hotfixes for bugs they introduce within a week or two in most cases. It's their latest and greatest Forerunner after all. As a first time Garmin owner, I'm disappointed.
