Spectator Messaging absent from LiveTrack interface?

Hi folks, I've got a Forerunner 945 LTE and have set up automatic LiveTrack with Spectator Messaging enabled. However, when I start an activity and the link gets sent to my partner, the LiveTrack site does not have a "send a message" button that I've seen in some video reviews. I've tried toggling Spectator Messaging on and off and a few other things to no avail. I've sent Garmin a bunch of diagnostic info etc. but wanted to check to see if others have experienced this and found any solutions.

Thanks!

Teddy

  • I believe the spectator messaging is only in the Live Event Sharing not Live Track Sharing.

  • Hm, I think sending your spectators sms updates on your pacing is Live Events, but the interface to send messages to racers is a LiveTrack feature. From the support article:

    Spectator Messaging
NOTE: Spectator messaging is available when your Forerunner® device has an active LTE Subscription.

Spectator messaging is a feature that allows your LiveTrack followers to send you audio and text messages during your run activity. You can set up this feature in the LiveTrack settings of the Garmin ConnectTm app. To receive audio messages, you must have Bluetooth® headphones connected to your Forerunner device.
