Hi there
I know there are some 3rd party apps for that but I also miss the F6 Surf app. Any chance to have it too on the 945LTE ?
Thanks for considering

Hello; the water rating on the 945 LTE being 5 atm vs 10 atm on the fenix isn't considered suitable for surfing based on our water rating definitions. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/legal/waterrating-definitions/ Surfing would be considered a high speed water sport, making it require a 10 atm rating. Because of that it's unlikely to see the surf app added to any of the Forerunner devices.
Make sense I didn't notice the water rating difference tbh. Just a question as it is a triathlon watch can we swim with it without concern though ? Don't want to break my warranty because of water inside the watch ;-)

A triathlon watch with open water and pool swimming apps isn't suitable for swimming?
Look at the definitions Garmin-Brooks posted:
5 ATM, Swim | Withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters | splashes, rain or snow, showering, swimming, diving into water, snorkeling |
10 ATM | Withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 100 meters | splashes, rain or snow, showering, swimming, diving into water, snorkeling, high-speed water sports |
I was familiar with the ratings before my post. It clearly says swimming and diving into water under the 5 ATM specs, so I'm questioning the "isn't considered suitable for swimming" comment.
Might be simply a typo and should be "isn't considered suitable for surfing" :)
An Apple iWatch has the same 50 meter rating at the 945, and their documentation also says "Apple Watch Series 2 and newer shouldn't be used for scuba diving, water skiing, or other activities involving high velocity water or submersion below shallow depth.". However a friend has been using his iWatch for surfing successfully, and there are surf specific apps for it so others have too https://www.surfinghandbook.com/surfing-with-the-apple-watch-a-review/
Given this you may be willing to risk it.
I use 945 LTE for kite surfing too. Had tons of crashes. Works fine. App's name is WindKiteSurf. The app's fine. The only thing that does not work at all with 945 LTE is mapping. The developer sent me some mambo jumbo answer. Basically he blames Garmin and won't fix it.
