Slow maps?

Is it normal for maps to be a bit slow when I am trying to move it around? Like it take a long time to move the arrow from my location to something a few blocks away from me. Any ideas why?

It starts slow but increases in speed when you keep the button pressed...

So if yiou do click click click each click will be a miniscule movement

If you keep it pressed the movement speed will increase

(At least, that's what I think is going on and what you mean here)
