GPS accuracy vs Fenix

I have a Fenix 6s that I am currently testing. I like it a good bit, but the GPS accuracy isn't there for me. I did two walks today(same route), one using GPS+Galileo & another using GPS+GLONASS & both were off by .15 miles vs what google maps & bing maps(used it to double check google) give & .1 off the Samsung Gear Sport I've been using for years on the same route. Which on a 100k ride, could be a minor issue? I've seen a few reviews when I was researching the Fenix that said the 945 LTE(& if I remember correctly Venu 2 also). I take using GPS+LTE could make it more accurate or is that not an option?

Related question, what does one loose going from a Fenix 6(base) to the 945 LTE, besides the the ability to go down father in the ocean? Thank you.

GPS error is a matter of the signal received at that moment. It's not a multiplier. If GPS is off say .10 of a mile for the first mile it doesn't mean a 10 mile run will be off by 1 mile or 10 miles if you ran 100.

LTE signal has nothing to do with your GPS track.

I really don't understand what you're asking here? Besides the watch build quality and a very few minor features, you lose nothing. Down in the ocean?

I only used my 945 LTE for running. But compared with F6S (whiich I also had), the tracking is sloightly better (note GPS only) and distances are the same.. So for me, the 945 LTE is better...

I think you answered what the user was asking - essentially build quality / materials.

I suspect the “Down in the Ocean” comment was based on the fenix having a higher waterproof rating.

Yes that's what I meant the ability to go down to lower depths in the ocean. Sorry it was late when I wrote that,.

Just to be clear tracking is slightly better, but actual distance between the two was similar? Have you compared it with GPS+GLONASS or Galileo?

I always run with GPS only. So no Glonass nor Galileo...

Did a 100k ride today testing both the Fenix 6S & 945 LTE(on different wrists) & it felt like the 945 LTE locked on to GPS a bit faster. It also lasted like 7-8% longer on the ride. I think I will go with the FR945 LTE & return the F6s.

Is gps lock in and performance better too?

Not sure I understand your question? But GPS locks fast. On today's run, this GPS and GLONASS for a test, the lock was within 3s. Really great. Tracking (performance) was dead on!

I found that GPS locks on faster than the 6s I was testing, but tracking understandably wasn't the best around tall buildings on my walk. Still very happy with it as it was very good tracking my 60+ mile ride through various parts of town. I was testing the 945 LTE & 6s on each hand & the 945 locked on the moment I started recording with the 6s was a few seconds/feet behind.
