Hi,
I’m currently trying to figure out how many calories I burn to then set a daily consumption target to have a deficit.
While researching, there’s tons of different information on the web.
Garmin calculates my daily resting calories at 2220.
As I understand, steps don’t give you active calories, only HR does.
Other apps give you around 50 calories per 1000 steps.
The watch also gives very low active calories for gym strength training, because my HR is not very high most of the time, even when doing heavy workouts.
Basically, the watches active calories are generally way lower than in other apps and information on the web.
I’d be happy about any insights!
