"Resume Later" disables stress monitor

When I bike to work I press "Resume Later", but during the work day the stress monitoris disabled. This is a bug, or at least there should be a dialog to explain that the device does not revert to normal operating mode while the activity is suspended. This is annoying. Can it be fixed?

  • Not sure if this is a bug, but this is a (well) known behavior. If you care about the stress and recovery metrics, you will have record a ride for each way of your commute.

  • It's not always a straight commute, there can be stops during the day and pausing the activity would sum up all the distances I covered during the day. Seems I must choose between having stress/recovery metrics and a handy sum of the bike mileage of the day.

The "Resume Later" does not describe the functionality well to the end user. "Suspend" might be better, or at least a dialog which says that some functions are unavailable while an activity is suspended. With "Resume Later"; you think the device goes back to normal operation like there was no background activity at all.
It is annoying to discover this by trial and error.

  • "NOTE: When using the Resume Later option on compatible devices, features such as Sleep, Stress, Body Battery, and other daily wellness tracking features are paused. It is recommended that you stop and save your activity if wanting your watch to record Sleep, Stress, Body Battery, and other daily wellness tracking features. "

I guess they should add this to the user manual as well...

  • Thanks for the input. Have a nice day!
