This morning, I set out to run a usual route. After hitting the start button on my 745, I awaited the green semicircle and check mark that signals a GPS lock. Once displayed, I initiated my run. Roughly 30 seconds in, the watch vibrated, showing the GPS lock symbols again, a rare occurrence that typically doesn't cause problems. However, about a minute later, it vibrated and showed the symbols once more. A mile in, I realized the distance on the watch was significantly less than expected, so I stopped the run. The watch had recorded about half a mile less than the actual distance. When I checked the run track on Garmin Connect, it showed my run about 9 miles southeast of my real location. After rebooting the watch and confirming a GPS lock, I began another short run. This time, the GPS symbols didn't reappear, and the tracking and distance data seemed correct.
I've never had such an issue with any Garmin product before. Do you have any insights into what might have caused this tracking discrepancy?
