Forerunner 745 Skin Rash

Garmin Forerunner 745 is giving me a painful and irritating skin rash. When this first happened, I wore the watch on other wrist and it caused the same rash there as well. Then I cleaned the watch, with different cleaning solutions, at some point I even used rubbing alcohol. None of the cleaning helped. When the rash happens I discontinue wearing the watch for a couple of days and the rash starts healing. I’m considering changing the wristband with a different material than plastic.

  • My daughter had a similar issue with her fitbit jr. We just changed to a metal watch band to fix the issue. When I upgraded her to a FR45, she didn't have the issue, however, everyone has unique allergies or sensitivities.

Note there are many times of "Plastic" watch bands. Silicon, polymer, plastic. You may have to try a few to find the right one.

  • We are sorry to hear about the issue you are reporting. The skin irritation may be a result of build-up on the watch band and/or casing. You should discontinue wearing your watch until your skin has healed.
