replace battery?

Lots of threads on how to optimize battery life, etc... But I'm wondering if anyone has successfully replaced the battery in their Forerunner?  My 745 is ~2.5 yrs old, and the degradation in battery life is noticeable now.  Seems crazy to me that a $500 watch doesn't have a replaceable battery, so is just Garmin's stance to buy a new watch?

  • Going to guess based off the lack of responses that it's simply not possible to replace the battery. Slight frown  Really disappointing seeing this trend in 'sealed' electronics (phones, laptops, watches, etc) these days, as it all seems geared towards premature obsolescence to sell the next device.

  • I hear you. I love my watch and today my battery completely died all of a sudden, when it was still charged to 100% a few hours ago. The watch was in great working order, why should I have to buy a new one just because the battery has had it?

  • I also have a watch that is 2.5 years old and the battery last only 2 days without doing any activities and only with the heart monitor on. Since the battery consumption looks the same as when new during the running activities I started suspecting it is because the latest FW upgrade. Did you notice anything similar after the latest FW upgrade?
