Check your watch/phone, for Spotify podcasts in your music playlists.

I tend to bring my phone with me, during long runs, so use it to play spoken word podcasts during those runs. I use my watches music playlists on shorter quicker runs, during one recent quick run, I heard German adverts before a podcast started to play, which was rather annoying as I was in the middle of an interval. Anyway, got home, and I couldn't edit my playlist on my watch, so I deleted it. Next quick run I used a different playlist, I have a 5K, 10K and general running playlist (all different tempos) and there was another podcast included on the list.

Checked out that playlist on Spotify and there in the middle of my playlist was the podcast, deleted both from my running playlists (on my phone) and updated them on my watch. Both podcasts were ones I had listened to, but the German language adverts were weird. I tend to update the music regularly, but I don't add podcasts to them.

I don't know if it's a Spotify, watch or a fat finger problem, but podcasts fil up your watches memory and aren't great for sprints

  • I should have added, that while you can't edit your playlists on your watch (only delete them) you can edit them on Spotify and then update them on your watch, which should delete any removed songs/podcasts
