I have an Edge 530 and the Forerunner 745. I usually track my ride with my Edge and Broadcast my HR with the 745. Today I forgot to broadcast the heart rate. I did a 33 mile bike ride 0.5 mph faster than I did it last week. When I was done it only gave my an exercise load of 39. This can't possibly be correct. Last week the same ride gave me a 253 load. I also noticed that it hasn't calculated my VO2 max. I have a power meter to connect to the Edge and usually this is calculated at the end of the ride.
I would not have thought missing HR data would impact either of these stats because HR isn't part of the calculations, but I can't think of a different reason. Without the HR broadcast, does that prevent the two from pairing? Does not pairing impact these calculations? Since Garmin should have the data from both devices, is there anyway to get it to recalculate? If I can't recalculate, can I at least edit the load data?
I am frustrated at not having the data but even more so just want to understand what happened so I can prevent it in the future. Thanks!
