High stress when sleeping

Hi all, I’ve had my forerunner 745 since September 2021, and I’m constantly getting high stress scores when sleeping which means my sleep score is rarely above 70 and my body battery starts the day below 70.

Ive read a few posts about alcohol and illness etc but I don’t drink alcohol at all and I generally go to bed at the same time 10:30pm and wake at 6am. I’ve noticed a spike when unwell but this is constant.

I seem to have 25-30 stress as soon as I fall asleep and then it comes down to 20-25, sometimes a bit lower with the overall average somewhere between 20-25. I’ve never had it below 18.

My job is quite stressful, but having had 2 weeks off over Xmas I was hoping to see some improvement. I’ve been sleeping much longer hours but because my stress is still high my sleep score and body battery hasn’t improved.

so I was just wondering if anyone has the same high stress or has solved why that is? Or any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks

G

  • How is the Garmin "Sleep Stress" calculated?

I know Garmin/Firstbeat sleep info needs to be taken with a grain of salt...but what's up with the stress score?

My REM, Deep, length were all good.  My movement, respiration all looked fine.  Stress score was high, rose in the first couple of hours, then fell to low levels at the end of the night.  Overall a poor sleep score, because stress was high.

How could the 745  come up with a stress score?
