Step count

Recently bought a FR745 and really satisfied with the product. I only experience an issue with the step count of the device.

I understand that step count on a wrist based device is not going to be accurate and I accept that.
Yet I see a big difference between my old FR235 and FR745. On a single day the FR745 would record on 20-40% more steps than the FR235.
I measured this by wearing both devices on the same non-dominant wrist for the whole day.

The FR235 is definitely not accurate either, but at least stays within an acceptable range so that you could use it to understand roughly how many steps you did.
But the FR745 seems to be completely useless for this particular metric, which is a huge disappointment.

Is this normal behaviour? At this point I'm really considering returning the device.
