Forerunner 745 corrupt activities (.fit files) after 6.20 update

Following an update to 6.20 software on Saturday I’ve had 3 corrupt activities; 2 runs and a walk on my FR745. Prior to this I’ve had no issues whatsoever which makes me believe the update could be the cause. I’ve hard reset the watch today to see if this resolves the issue and reported the problem to Garmin support along with the 3 corrupt files for analysis.

I also see GPS software 5.11 was released last week which my watch upgraded to, and I guess this could potentially be the issue too - spurious GPS data maybe.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or knows if it’s a particular setting causing the issue? Or knows of a confirmed resolution?

It’s more than likely a hardware issue. Consider the hundreds of thousands of watches shipped globally by Garmin and the thousands of people running 6.20 (and various other versions) and configurations…

If you can zip then attach the fit files here, we can take a look, try to repair the files and give you some insight as to what happened.

Zip the files, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the fit files to a file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Have deleted the Activity, RemoteSW and NewFiles folders on the watch. Have also spoken to Garmin support who suggested deleting the RemoteSW folder too and if this doesn’t resolve the issue (which I doubt it will) to submit my entire Garmin folder for analysis. This really seems like a software issue since it only started occurring after the 6.20 and GPS 5.11 updates!

Would be really interesting to know if anyone else is experiencing this too.
