Forerunner 745 gesture for backlight

The gestures feature on my forerunner 745 is no longer working. The backlight stays on the entire run instead of being activated by the gesture. How do I fix that?

I posted about this over a month ago…seems like it’s a bug from the last update (not fixed in the beta, I checked) but no one from Garmin has acknowledged it.
