Buying FR745

Hi Slight smile. I'm thinking of buying a FR745, so I have a couple of questions ? What is meant when in Dc Rainmaker (8 Months Later Review Update) it is said that the FR945 has Temperature and the FR745 does not ? And is the Garmin ELEVATE optical HR sensor V4 worth not buying the FR745 that has the V3 ? Generally what is the opinion about FR745 ?  Is maybe the Fenix 6S Pro a better buy ? I have a good offer for him too, FR745 300 Euro, Fenix 6S Pro 350 Euro, both new. I plan to use it for two to three years, before the replacement.

  • FR745 does have an internal temperature monitor but does not have the temperature widget. It can be downloaded from Connect IQ.  FYI - all wrist devices with internal temperature monitors suffer from the same issue -  as your body/wrist heats up, the heat is conducted to the watch and is measured by the probe. Garmin suggests taking the watch off for 20-30 minutes to get an accurate reading of the ambient air temperature. If you want a more accurate measurement of the ambient temperature during your run, you will want to use the Garmin Tempe probe accessory (sold separately) which can be attached to your shoe or other areas where the heat from your body would have minimal impact on the measurement.
