FR 745 Problem with GPS (missing longitude and latitude) and incorrectly measuring distances and speeds

Hi all,

last week I have a problem with GPS recording during activities cycling, running, walking. After a short time, it stops measuring GPS, longitude and latitude are missing, so it starts measuring the distance incorrectly and also calculates the speed as 0 km/h.

Here is an example of recording a similar route on a bicycle in a TCX file or FIT file. Pic on the left - correct record two weeks ago, pic on the right - incorrect record, longitude and latitude are missing.

For example, instead of 17 km, the route records me only 2 km. Occasionally, the watch asks the satellites for position and soon disconnects. The recording then looks like the attached picture.

I have been using Garmin for many years, FR 745 since January, before Vívoactive 3 and I have never had a similar problem. Can someone please help me where the problem might have occurred?

Software version: 5.80

CPE: current

Data Recording: every second

GPS: GPS + Galileo, sometimes GPS + Glonass

Factory reset did not help.

Could you zip the associated fit file then attach it to your post?

Might help to backup then empty contents of the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on the watch - Removing Recorded Activities on a Garmin Fitness Device

Even if the CPE is current sometimes helps to remove the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder then sync using Garmin Express. Although if you did a factory reset, that should have cleared it as well.

Do you ever sync with Garmin Express?
