Hearth rate sensor doesn't turn off when HR strap is connected during activity

Hi,

Wrist heart rate is set to auto and HR strap (BT or Ant+) is connected, still OHR is flahing green when starting activity.

This is a common bug for newly released Garmin watches.

Please solve bug.

Thanks

Did you set up Garmin Pay and use it? It's a safety precaution.  If you're using a strap the OHR stays on (HR still comes from the strap) in case you take off or lose your watch. It then locks your pin when the sensor detects it's no longer being worn where it has entered again so no one can use it without your knowledge.  May this be the case?

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your answer.

I am coming from FR245 and what you describe might indeed the case for FR745.

In order to save battery live during run it would be an idea to switch of OHR meaning that pin needs to be entered again when using Garmin Pay after run.

I am in favour of saving battery live during run.  Entering pin is just a matter of seconds.

  • Hi,

During indoor bike session OHR turned off when connecting HR strap.

I gues the following logic might be applicable; for inside activities Garmin has made the conclusiom you do not need Garmin Pay.  For outside activities the opposite.

For battery life gain it would be good to turn OHR off when connecting strap for all activities; inside and outside.

    Do you think likewise?

    Cheers,
