Backlight on with gesture not working

Recently (maybe since the last update) the backlight is staying on continuously while activities are running (specifically, running). When it’s paused, it works, but when I’m actually running (or even standing still) the backlight just stays on.

Is anyone else encountering something similar? Any ideas on how to fix? I haven’t tried a reset yet.

Try turning off the Gesture option in the backlight settings and see if the backlight stays off when you start the run. If so, then try to turn Gesture back on and see if it works probably then.

I tried a few different options. It looks like the accelerometer is interpreting arm swing as a wrist turn all of a sudden. Standing still, everything works as expected. As soon as I’m running the light stays on even if I manually turn it off with the power button.

Still not working. Have tested while running and standing still. My arm swing *while running* is being interpreted as a wrist turn since the last update. I confirmed that swinging my arms while standing still does not trigger the backlight.

Edit: after installing most recent update it seems to work reasonably now.

Yeah, the 945 has the same problem. Hopefully the new software that came out yesterday resolves this.

Maybe, but it wasn’t fixed in the beta so I’m not optimistic.

Just noticed the same issue. Running I dark. The back light turns on all the time. Not on for 2-3 secs. Then turns on. (Never seen this before last update)

(Battery life is limited as it is on the 745 :) )
