I'm using the hrm pro with my 745 but it makes my training status go from productive to unproductive. What would make it do that bpm? Weather? It varies that much?

The VO2 max calculation is based on heart rate and GPS pace. The faster you run and the lower your heart rate, the higher your calculated VO2 max. The training status is a comparison between your separate VO2 maxes of your activities. If you run with a slower pace and higher heart rate (trail running, slower pace runs, poor GPS reception, etc) it calculates your VO2 max lower, and therefore a Unproductive or Detraining status.
If you go to Training Status, under Training Status Options you can Pause Training Status. This will keep those slower pace/higher HR runs from being included in your VO2 max calculation that therefore your training status.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Recently VOmax for trail running has been added. This will take into account higher HR with lower paces on more challenging surfaces. Should be turned on under trail run settings
Might be an alternative to pauze training status.
Slower runs, mean lower HR, thus VO2max should remain the same (theoretically )
