Remove "Distance 1.0" audio prompts when running...

When I am running I have the audio prompt saying Lap "X" set for each kilometer (and it changes to Lap 2 = 2km, Lap 3 = 3km...etc etc) and my average pace "X" (minutes per km) over that previous kilometer, but it then says Distance 1.0...and this never changes....!!

I want to remove the distance audio prompt, as its useless and never changes during the run.

How can I cancel this?

I am also very surprised that the Garmin watch doesn't provide more audio prompt options when running/exercising? I would like to have audio prompts in my Bluetooth headphones when I'm running that say the cumulative total of the km's that I've travelled, how long I've been running for and then my average or current speed or pace.

The Strava app does this very easily....

  • Have a look into the audio prompt setting in GC (if not done yet).

    Inside Device, Activity Options.

    Might help.

  • Cheers, thanks Thibaud J. Much appreciated.

I have been through the Garmin Connect app on my phone and into the Activity Options, but it only gives you these options...

Turn the Audio Prompts "on or off"...

    Lap Alerts "on or off"...

Pace or Speed Alerts "on or off'", and then the 3 different options of "Alert Type" for Average Pace or Speed, Current Pace or Speed, Lap Pace or Speed.

There doesn't seem to be an option to turn "on or off" the Distance 1.0 audio prompt?

  • Have you checked into the activities setting on the watch itself?

  • Yes, I have looked into the activity settings on the watch and in Garmin Connect (both on mobile app and on laptop), and it still doesn't give an option to turn the audio prompt of "Distance 1.0" on or off. Its very frustrating when running...!
