Battery drain

Hi guys ,I bought this Garmin 3 days ago,the battery drain very fast, 2 days with one charge, with one run of 1 hour. First I thought it's because of pulse ox and I turned it off , but still drain about 2 % hour. I already made a hard reset but the only thing I made it was have more work to put everything like was before.

  • Same problem here. I get almost 2 days with PulseOX at night and 1 hour GPS session. But the drain is just steady all day when in use. I left the watch on my night stand for 2 days and it only drained 20%.

I need atleast 4-5 days or I can just return to my Apple Watch..

  • You should probably contact Garmin. I get over a week, walking every day with GPS, running 3 times a week with GPS and music and riding my mountain bike 3 times a week with GPS. I have sleep pulse ox on and keep it in Airplane mode when I'm not exercising. I alao turned off smart notifications and I'm using the stock watch face with seconds turned off.

  • I have pulse ox off, a watch face with power saver option, and backlight off during daytime; the battery drains 15% per 24 h if no exercise, and about 10% per hour of GPS activity. That is quite ok for me.

Just to share. But I agree that the drain was quicker during the first days, until i found the settings that suit me.

  • That's what I'm getting since yesterday,I made some tweaks in the settings and in 24 hours with pulse ox when sleeping and a 5 km run it drains only 26%. But first days with one hour activity a drain of 50 % its to much. Now is on pair with the my 235,245 and 645 I have previously. 3 days and half  with running everyday its ok for me

  • Little update. I now seems to get 4 days. Not sure why my first charge only gave me 2 days. No settings were changed.

  • Maybe it takes a few days to the watch to settle, download, have a few charging cycles, but that was the same for me. Now satisfactory g FG or me, but first days were shorter.

  • Calling someone a liar isn't in the spirit of this forum. was sharing HIS experience. I have a 735xt that gets 10 days with (50% over the advertised time) with 5 days of running or OW swimming, smartwatch off, lighting off and bluetooth only on during sync. So it is certainly conceivable with proper customization to meet or exceed the stated battery time.

  • I have a 3 weeks old 745 and I do confirm during the first few days the battery drain was exceptionally fast.

I last charged my watch for the third time last Monday and currently the battery is at 24% with the following usage/setup:

    • 3 x 1h running workouts using GPS + GLONASS
    • default factory analog watch face with only date complication
    • no PulseOX
    • backlight off during daytime
    • call notifications only
    • wearing the watch 24h/day

So far I’m pretty happy with the overall battery duration.
