Swimming Stroke and Distance Detection Problem

I have been using my 745 for swimming for a few weeks without any concerns.

Swimming in the same pool (25m) every time.

This morning when I started the activity I noticed after the first 4 sets that my watch did not pickup any interval distances.

I thought I was doing something wrong so I stopped the activity. With the following completed;

1 x 100 FS in Z2 + 100 Pull in Z2
1 x 50 FS in Z2

I checked the "Pool Swim Settings" and did not find any issues. Pool Size was 25 Meters, Stroke Detection was on, Auto Rest was Off.

I started the training session again and for the entire rest of the swim (2,150m) my watch did not pick up any interval distance.

I pressed the "lap" button every time I had a rest and started the interval every time I kicked off.

Please help?

  • This might help...
I have gone into Garmin Connect and manually added the distances and my avg. pace (1:58/100m) vs. my normal avg. pace (1:46/100m).
So it does look like it did not record the intervals properly either.

There was also no stroke detection or any other metrics.

  • Did you get this sorted? Mine did the same this week during intervals in a 25m pool.  Still recorded heart rate but not the stroke.  Is there a fix?

  • Hi,
I did a cold boot (Switch the watch off and switched it on again a minute later).
Since I did that I never had the problem again.

Must have been a glitch in the swimming function at the time.

  • I have FR745

My pool size is 20m and set as 20m on my watch. When hit start and push off the wall it records a lap after 10m. When I reach the other end of the pool my watch records another lap. So I have swam 20m and the watch says 40m. It is very frustrating

anyone know how to correct this?
