Hello everyone,
I received a month ago this new amazing watch and I am trying to test it in all possible ways. "It seems" that during workouts, if the workout is started manually, everything is recorded quite fine.
I do mainly crossfit and I use the cardio workout in that case. So before beginning I start it and data seems good:
First weird thing is: me going to the gym with the bike is not automatically detected, me going back home from the gym with the bike is detected and reported. This is the first thing I noticed happening multiple times.
The second thing I tried was: let's see what happens when I do not start manually a cardio session. Result, nothing.
On the left a cardio rowing workout started manually, on the right the same exact workout not started manually (plus somehow an auto-detected swimming activity while instead I was rowing):
I can understand that the Garmins are meant to be done with starting the workouts manually but I find this a bit over the limit. Who tells me that the watch is actually recording the right heart rate when I am in rest state? If it doesn't notice that I am going through peaks of heart rate there during a workout (15 to 20 mins long) there is no assurance it notices things correctly also when doing nothing.
At last, for example during warmup, still I am not doing a real workout, but I may hit peaks of HR for 30 seconds of assault bike for example. Of course not registered at all. Would that mean that I have to start workout sessions also for small warmups? What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for all the help!
