Unable to download Garmin Express and Forerunner 735 not syncing properly

I keep getting an error when I try to sync my Forerunner 725. Something about not enough space. The answer I found online is to install Garmin Express but I getting a message to say it couldn’t complete installation on my PC! I’ve tried a bunch of time’s to resolve this but to no avail. Any other solution to this? Is Garmin Express going to be a necessity for using Garmin going forward? It’s kind of frustrating to have to download new software to receive updates when I thought Garmin Connect already did this.

If you know when syncing halted, you can try a manual upload to Garmin Connect. That will at least tell you if there as an issue with corrupt files or with the synching process...

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. In that case, zip the file then attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

Once you've done that, remove all fit files from the \GARMIN\ACTIVTY folder on your 735XT.

Thanks very much will give this a try. The watch did suddenly sync about an hour later but the error message has happened a couple of times in recent days so I suspect it won’t be the last time. From the error message that comes up it looks like there is an update that Garmin is trying to send which isn’t working without Garmin Express (which I can’t download!). Will try your solution, thank you.
