Undo lap press during garmin coach workouts

I can't believe there is no way to undo a lap press during garmin coach workouts. This is extremely frustrating.

The "Lap/Next Activity" button is also the 'back' button during normal use, which is very confusing and clearly prone to unwanted presses. I am a newbie and I am already so tired of ruining my workouts after 5km by mistakenly pressing the lap button. This is something which is asked all over the place by users around the world, why the heck does Garmin refuses to implement something that would take 15min to one of their software engineer?

  • IMHO It is wiser to try to control yourself and press the button when necessary. Instead of teaching others how to program the watch. There is no limit to perfection, based on experience with other watches where this option was, a theme arises: "Undo Lap Undo".

I just block the manual definition of the loop by pressing the button, the GPS cuts the kilometers quite accurately.

  • Yes, you're right. I shouldn't tell Garmin engineers how to work. At the end of the day, I am just a mere client who spent a minimal wage of the country I live in for the watch. I have no right to complain, let alone suggest new features.

More companies should definitely follow your vision: "Dear customer, we consider that our system is perfect. Every user mistake will be severely punished. We urge you to control yourself before using our product"

That would readily resolve the issue for the users having the same problem all over the forum

Also, you seem to understand quite well that my problem refers to going to the next activity in a workout and not to actually counting laps.

So.. well.. Thanks for your input I guess.

The point of my answer was that what you are proposing is not something new, but something that has already been done and in my opinion nothing good came of it.There will always be someone for whom, and this additional support will not be enough... Take a look, maybe you will understand.

"Lap key off" - this is an activity option that many Garmin users use, maybe you shouldn't show off and try it?

  • It seems to me that nothing good came out of it exactly because it wasn't well designed. For instance, a long press on the lap button would probably be a far better way to implement this feature, as it doesn't correspond to any other function.

Not intending to tell Garmin engineers how to work though.

  • Hello,

Our newer watches like the Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 570, 955 and 965 all have the function to undo a lap. However for your watch you can turn lap key off since of course this new feature is not on the Forerunner 55.

Watches that have it per their manuals:
