Garmin Forerunner 55 Bluetooth issues

Hi

I recantly noticed that my watch disconnects from my phone when i am about 2 to 3 meters away from my phone. I have read on one forum that on the latest update they reduced the bluetooth range on the watch. Is this true? If so how can you rectify this problem. Usualy it was about 10 meters. Now i must hold it in the same hand where i wear the watch to keep it connected.

  • latest update they reduced the bluetooth range on the watch. Is this true?

No, this is some kind of stupidity. The problem is old and not only for FR55.

For 55 you can look at Bluetooth connection range has been greatly reduced.

  • Cant garmin fix this issue. Or revert back to an older version?  Whatbis the point to reduce bt distance other than battry life....

  • Or revert back to an older version?

It seems you didn't understand (it's stupid to think that "latest update they reduced the bluetooth range on the watch"), the problem is not with the program but with the hardware, and the versions have absolutely nothing to do with it. Version 13 for 245 works fine on some 245s and doesn't work on others, for 55 someone had the problem more than a year ago - (what version of software is that?), and for others it didn't exist and doesn't exist for new versions.

And this problem arises over time, at first everything is fine but then not, have you looked at the examples? They are about this and not about software.

Judging by discussion 245, it is reasonable to change the watch if there is still a guarantee.

  • Replaced a faulty battery in FR55 (not working since March 2023).

FR 55 had problems with BT range before the battery failed.

FR55 started working, FW updated to 10.1, I don't know what it is connected with, but BT range was completely restored to 10 meters.

So regarding FW 10.1, we can completely exclude the assumption that it reduces BT range.
