Body battery rises and then drops straight off every night at midnight

Every night my watch does the same thing. My body battery rises throughout the night until midnight. At this point it drops straight down. In the morning it will say something like:

Body Battery 8, +71, -83

Why is this happening and how do I fix it. I have tried resetting my watch but that hasn't helped.

  • Slightly off topic, but maybe it explains why I want to see the screenshot from Garmin connect: youtu.be/WR7teEjB_YU

  • Haha funny but I still don't get the initial response of "This is the "definition" of body battery. It tracks the changes during the day", unless it was meant to address non-existent complaints about: the graph starting at midnight or the fact that "Body Battery 8, +71, -83" is relative to midnight.

    Doesn't really matter though.

I think what you are saying is that the only valid reason for the drop could be activities or stress at the time of the drop, and I think the OP is strongly implying that there are no such activities or stress which could account for that drop, so actually all of us are in agreement about how it should work.

Again, I'll say that if the drop was indeed caused by activities or stress ("every night"), that would not explain why the drop goes away for a while after resetting the watch.

  • Thank you for trying to help. To be clear, I know how the body battery is meant to work and what is happening is not a regular pattern of the rising and falling of the body battery, it is a sudden drop that doesn't correspond with my sleep, activity, and stress levels.

  • For some reason I am also getting the message that garmin does not have enough data despite me wearing my watch connected to my phone with blue tooth continuosly.

  • Strange. I would contact Garmin support, maybe they'll be able to figure it out. As you are able to reproduce it every day they might be able to find the bug
