I've never had any issues with my Forerunner 55. Over my last 3 walks, it has failed to find a GPS signal. Sure, I'm in the mountains, but today, my Google Maps was accurately showing my location on an offline map (no cellphone signal) yet my walk doesn't have an GPS data. Yesterday I updated the software via Garmin Express and I've checked that my CPE is current. I also went into the GPS setings and changed from "GPS + GLONASS" to "GPS Only" - I dunno... I thought maybe Russia's invasion of Ukraine affected GLONASS (what do I know about this stuff!).
I generally don't use the "Walk" function when I'm home because I exercise in the gym, so I just use "Cardio" to record my HR, but now I'm on holiday doing some hiking and would love to have a map of my hikes.
