While I’m running and have my blue tooth earbuds on, the voice are not coming through. It doesn’t give me my pace and doesn’t say lap 1 completed.

You must have Garmin connect opened in your mobile and syncronised with your watch. If the app is closed, you will never hear anything. This is happening to me in a Epix 2.

Then my "workaround" doesn't solve anything. sorry about that.
