Backlight bug

Forerunner 55, firmware: v10.01, GPS: v4.13, CIQ: v3.4.2, WHR: v5.02.00, ANT/BLE : v2.01, Sensor Hub: v24.13

When you press the "Down" button of the widgets, the backlight lights up, although it is disabled everywhere in the settings. This problem has been present for a long time, is it going to be fixed?
Factory reset does not work.

  • Can you please verify that your "Keys" are Off in your watch's Menu > Settings > System > Backlight > Not During Activity? If they already off, does toggling it on and back off make a difference?

  • This was reported and confirmed by multiple people around a year ago (since v8.02). It happens when scrolling past the heart rate widget. If you remove the heart rate widget the backlight behaves normally (i.e. it stays off). Multiple people did a complete factory reset at the time without being able to solve the problem. I have toggled the backlight setting on and back off to no avail.
