swimming

Hey all, i am thinking about geting a Garmin forerunner 55 or swim 2. i am manly gona use the watch for swimming only. since the forerunner 55 i much cheaper than the swim 2 thats my first reason. its gonna be my first smart watch.
but i have been trying to look online about which to get but there are little information about how the 55 behaves in water. is it acurat in mesuring distance in pool?
do you have tha abbilety to add training programs to the watch to follow?
do the heart rate work on the 55 under water?

just pros and cons about eachg watch for swimming?
i know swim 2 got the open water style but this is not importen since i live in cold area.

  • Hello , see

    www.garmin.com/.../

Set the "Show only differences" flag, see the "SWIMMING FEATURES" section

The accuracy of measuring heart rate and distance is the same, there are no POOL SWIM WORKOUTS at 55,but there are drills.

If you care about the accuracy of heart rate measurement, then 55 does not support HRM-SWIM, unlike swim2.

In support of running, a variety of activities , health monitoring, and the use of "Garmin IQ", the 55 has an advantage.

  • I use the garmin 55 for pool swimming and from my experience it is not accurate counting the distance and recognizing the movements.
