My watch has been draining very quickly lately and repeatedly turns off when the battery still has enough charge. It also disconnects from Bluetooth and does not sync.

I'm sorry to hear about that! Regarding the Bluetooth/sync issue, I suggest following the steps from Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App.
Since your device, however, is also shutting off randomly- you will need to directly contact Garmin Product Support in your region.
I have a Forerunner 45 that also keeps turning off, which is an issue shared on this forum by many users. However there is no indication whatsoever that Garmin accept it as a software fault, nor intend to fix it. I was considering buying another watch as my Forerunner 45 is about as much use as a chocolate teapot but it definitely won't be a Garmin as this appears to be a fault on the 55 as well and from everyone's description of their symptoms is clearly software related.
Thanks. You are probably right. I am probably wrong. Prompted by your reply I did some diagnostic investigation during which the watch turned itself off many many times, and in the end I worked out that it was whenever it made a sound, for any reason at all. I turned of sound in all the alarms and in the workouts and the watch has not turned itself off since. Like I said, thanks, because I now have a useful running watch again.
