Why is my watch sometimes showing a HR of 30 bpm while at rest?

I'm sure there's no way it could be that low or I would feel weak and dizzy, which I haven't. What could cause it to misread and show a low rate? I wear the watch snug, but not tight at all. It only recently started showing this number in a range of 30-35bpm, normally resting heart rate has been between 50-55. For reference, 21 yo female and very fit and healthy. Thanks!

  • Simplest would be to do a manual pulse check, if that shows 30s then watch is OK, but maybe you need to check with a doctor, to be safe?

Otherwise try the watch a bit tighter, to be sure, and check the underside of the watch is really clean?

  • Thank you, those are good things to try. I do clean my watch everyday. I talked to a Garmin rep yesterday and he said cold weather can cause the sensor to misread sometimes, and it just got colder where I am. We'll see! Relaxed
